Narrated from Abu Hurairah (RA) that Allah’s Apostle ﷺ said: “The most perfect of the believers in faith, is the best among them in character. And the best of you are those who are best to their women.”

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Al-Ahwas said: “My father narrated to me that he was present at the farewell Hajj along with the Apostle of Allah ﷺ. So, (in sermon) he thanked and glorified Allah and he reminded and gave admonition. He mentioned a story in his narration so he (the Prophet) said: “And indeed I command you to be good to the women, for they are like prisoners with you. You own nothing else over them besides that (conjugal rights, trust etc.) except that if they commit indecency openly. If they do that, then abandon their beds and beat them with a beating that is not harmful. And if they obey you then do not look for any cause against them to beat them. Indeed, you have rights over your women, and your women have rights over you. As for your rights over your women, then they must not allow anyone on your bedding (furniture) whom you dislike, nor to admit anyone in your home that you dislike. And their rights over you are that you treat them well in matters of their dressing and feeding.”
